You guys!!  If you are looking to entertain or just enjoy a delicious but different type of wing, then check out this recipe!!

I have to give credit to my love Randy for this one.  One day he threw some ingredients together to make a blueberry bbq sauce and BAM!  We had a sticky sauce to coat our chicken wings.

After about the 2nd time he made these for me, I said Ok… we need to put a recipe together.  I cannot tell my friends to just shake a little of this and pour a little of that.

So we kept at it, pinning down each measurement of each ingredient.  Now it’s time to share the recipe with you!

Let’s get this party started! 💃🏻

Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, add chicken wings, salt and pepper to taste. Mix up to combine seasoning with chicken wings. You can either grill or bake your wings. If you are baking, set oven to 400F. Wings will cook for about 30-40 minutes or until they reach an internal temp of at least 165 on a thermometer. I like my wings to have nice crispy skin.
  2. In a small saucepan, add the first 6 ingredients (chili powder, bbq seasoning, tomato sauce, blueberries, maple syrup, and brown sugar). Stir to combine and cook on med heat. Stir often to help the blueberries to release their juices. Taste the sauce to see if you prefer a bit more sweetness.
  3. Once the blueberries cook down, transfer the sauce to a blender. Let the sauce cool for about 20 minutes and then blend up. If you need a touch more liquid add a little water. Sauce should be on the thicker side, not runny.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, add the blended sauce and cooked wings. Use tongs to toss the wings in the sauce until evenly coated. Plate these babies up!
  5. ~ Enjoy!
Recipe Notes

For presentation, you can top with sesame seeds or sprigs of rosemary or both!

Chopped rosemary would be a great compliment to the sauce.  Just chop up a sprig of rosemary (be sure to remove the leaves from the stem first and chop the leaves) and let it cook with the sauce and blend together.
