Avocado Mayo

Have you ever read the ingredients on the back of commercially produced mayonnaise?  It’s quite scary!

But let’s start with the front of the product, you will see things like avocado mayonnaise or olive oil mayonnaise, which leads you to believe that’s the only oil in the product.  But as soon as you turn it over you will see things like this:

Water, Olive Oil, Soybean Oil, Vinegar, Modified Food Starch, Sugar, Maltodextrin, Eggs, Contains less than 2% of Salt, Mustard Flour, Dried Onions, Dried Garlic, Natural Flavor, Enzyme Modified Egg Yolk, Beta Carotene* (Color), Lactic Acid*,Potassium Sorbate* and Calcium Disodium Edta As Preservatives, Phosphoric …

OR

Ingredients: WATER, AVOCADO OIL, CANOLA OILSOYBEAN OIL, VINEGAR, EGGS, MODIFIED FOOD STARCH(INGREDIENT NOT NORMALLY FOUND IN MAYONNAISE), EGG YOLKS, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF THE FOLLOWING: SALT, SUGAR, MUSTARD FLOUR, PHOSPHORIC ACID, NATURAL FLAVOR, POTASSIUM SORBATE AND CALCIUM DISODIUM EDTA (AS PRESERVATIVES).

Soybean oil and Canola oil are highly processed oils, which our body cannot use effectively.  These oils stall and disrupt our digestion, create inflammation in our body, clog up our arteries, cause weight gain, and create hormonal imbalances. PERIOD. END OF STORY.

They are especially dangerous if eaten in high amounts.  Meaning your diet is full of these highly processed oils.

Other processed oils are:  Cottonseed, Sunflower, Safflower, Peanut, Vegetable, Corn and Grapeseed Oil – again these all cause a negative effect on the body.  Side Note – Expeller-pressed of the oils listed above are less processed, but you should still watch the consumption of these oils.

You will find these oils 99.9% of the time in processed foods.  So take a moment and reflect on your current way of eating.  If you are actively consuming these oils, please look for other alternatives as your health is most certainly at stake!

The oils you do want to consume on a regular basis are Cold-Pressed oils such as Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, Coconut Oil.

Other healthy fats are animal fats such as Grass-Fed Butter, Grass-fed Ghee (clarified butter), Lard and Tallow.

These oils and fats promote heart health, brain health, fat burning metabolism, hormonal balance and help to reduce inflammation in the body!!

So do me a favor, please take a look at how you are currently eating, does it support illness and disease or does it support health and wellness?

Here’s a recipe that will support your health and wellness!!

Recipe Notes

I love using avocado oil because it's mild in flavor and does not overpower the mayo like olive oil does.
